Julyo is consummate Award winner guitar player who sculpts musical sound with infinite creativity and technical mastery. Julyo has performed and worked with Armando Corsi (Paco de Lucia), Mike Mangini (Steve Vai, Extreme), Mark Mangold (Cher, Michael Bolton), Michael Maccini (Simple Minds) and Keith Patchel (Television).
Award winner artist Julyo is a composer, video artist and multi-instrumentalist. Fluent in conventional video scoring techniques and a full range of musical styles, Julyo specializes in combining ethnic and modem instruments to create a blend of the exotic and contemporary he named ‘ethnofunk’ music.
Julyo has scored nationally broadcasted TV and radio commercials, including Coca Cola’s “Cappy” commercial and D&G fashion showcases, and contributed to feature films such as Laurence Gartel’s “Fetish America” and Lars Gerhard’s “Erika Stone” documentary.
Julyo’s recording credits include one International Award for Best Score at the New York Independent film festival 2006 for the movie ‘Photosonic’ and an Honorable Mention from the historical acoustic guitar brand C.f. Martin in PA, USA for the solo record ‘Conversations’, and TV music performances with Take That (RTE One, Ireland), 4Ever (Time Warner Cable, US) and many more.
During 2009, Julyo joined the Dublin based rock band Sound Of Soul as bass player, and started to perform gigs in Ireland both as solo artist and session player in venues as Sugar Club, Village, Project Arts Centre and Whelan’s.
Julyo’s field recordings of ‘ethnofunk’ and ‘instrumental pop’ music can be heard on the Austria’s national radio station O3, Japanese TV channel T&M, Italian national television RAI along with many other broadcasted TV and radio channels including the Muzak worldwide music database. Julyo’s music is currently used by Muzak, 1000Tracks Inc. (HBO, Bravo, etc.), and Elec Trip Records.
Julyo music has been featured in thousands of TV and radio commercials worldwide, from Coca Cola to Calvin Klein, NBC Television to T&M Japan.
Giulio "Julyo" D'Agostino is an Award winner VJ / multimedia artist and music producer, internationaly known for his work in film scoring, pop music and video art.
Since the late 1990s, Julyo has worked with an array of notable performers and companies, including Take That, Laurence Gartel (GARTEL, Andy Wharol), Mark Mangold (Cher, Michael Bolton), Keith Patchel (Johnny Thunders), Michael Maccini (Jeff Buckley, The Sumerians), FXS Group Spain, O3 HitRadio AU, Coca Cola, Muzak Inc., and many more.
During 2005 he founded in Japan the 'visual music' project 'Photosonic Orchestra', released during 2006 the Award winner VJ mix 'Photosonic', containing original video material shooted in Denmark during 2006 at Minerva Pictures studios.
Julyo has performed live VJ sets worldwide, including a 2 years headliner feature at the Skin Two Magazine Rubber Ball Weekend at SeOne Club (London, UK) and performances at Stereo Club (New York, US), Heartland (Tokyo, JP), Star (Helsinki, FI), Element (Hollywood, US) and a one year residency at MOJOs Club in Tokyo with DJ Vika.
Julyo is currently resident VJ/DJ at the King Kong Club night at the Village in Dublin, guitar player in the ANiMA LIBERA project, Photosonic Orchestra and leader of the ambient / post-jazz project LiMEN.
His solo material is published in Europe by Elec Trip Records, Cargo Records and GD Seventy Eight Music.
